Journey to meeting Stuart Knight


                                                


   It was an awesome evening on October 29th at the Jane Mallet Theater at the   St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts. Stuart Knight held his Four Conversations for Success event to packed audience.

 He shared his insight and experience from his book You Should Have Asked The Art of Powerful Conversation.

Power of Team Networking

It was an interesting day at the Small Business Forum on Oct 23rd at the Metro Convention Centre.  There was a main stage of speakers and panel experts sharing their insight on business, life and success.
There were exhibitors from all areas from of business. I had great conversations with friends who had attended the event. 

It was great to network with attendees and exhibitors, great way to seek new business opportunities
Tom Kaufmann, Sales Trainer and Cold Calling specialist, joined me as we took a tour of the exhibitors at the event. Three strategies were applied.

1st Ask questions
We asked numerous questions about the organization and what they did. This helped us understand their business, and what’s their value proposition was. 

2nd  Listening
Actively listening and engaging in conversation with value added information.

3rd  Business card exchange
If there was an opportunity to exchange services, we did exchange business cards.
Within 45 minutes we both walked away with 2 paid speaking leads and 2 opportunities to write articles for online websites that have high traffic.

Many attendees had approached me throughout the day stating that it wasn’t a great day. I shared them my results and they were impressed. I told them it’s about  “quality not quantity”
Moral of the story

Going to industry events is about ask questions, listening and understanding what value you bring to the conversation.

The biggest thing I have learned in attending these type of shows is not to judge an opportunity by their booth. Approach and ask questions. This allows them to speak and tell you all about their business. They will, if they are smart, ask you about your business. Now you have increased your branding and made a business friend/contact.

Do not approach a stranger you wish to speak to by being a walking – talking commercial. You all know what we do at home with commercials!

People you meet at a trade show will rarely present themselves as an immediate opportunity for business. Make a friend first – then later on, potentially make a sale. Make them want to know you better by listening to their needs, or maybe even, a colleagues needs that you can address at a later date. That way everybody wins.

Journey to visting the Tesla Store at Yorkdale Mall


          Tesla Store at Yorkdale has been open for more than 1 year and I had took the opportunity to visit and check out this amazing car. Had a chance to take a few pictures. Thanks to Paulo Songane (Product Specialist) for the photos.

          I first heard about Nikola Tesla from Bob Huybrechts form Inventors Circle Group Learn more . Nikola Tesla had an interested journey from inventor to car named after him. Worth the read!

Power of a Brand

It has been a interesting journey growing my brand since 2003 when I started to out network with just a plain business card with my name,email address,phone and interesting logo! (more on that later)
As years passed I began to learn and grow personal and professionally and in May 2011 is when I first started to learn the power of branding. I was part of a mastermind group in Toronto with five other amazing entrepreneurs and this when it became apparent that I need a brand to represent what i did. I had come with name Get Connected Make Wealth Happen! It was catchy and represent my journey.

I still remember the day going to the studio to get my profile picture completed. It was exciting times. we had an event that we had planned for May 2011 and we were 5 weeks away, I needed  a brand! The group had agreed on that point. (below is the brand)

                                                

                                       

  I was excited how it turned out and it was great have brand to be represented. Feedback was positive and the event was a huge success! I used this name and logo for a few years until November 2012
that I had meeting with Justin McMakin Founder of Full Media Centre and creator of the Vision Discovery method.

 We had a working lunch at Greek restaurant where we went through an three hour vision discovery session to come up with new brand, I had expanded my business profile and need a better way to share this with my network.

So we got a piece of paper and began and in the end we came up with great 3 step plan to make my brand stand out and be noticed!

First was to launch  21 Connections. Simple way to explain 21 ways to effectively grow your business. (yes there are 21 circles!) with a great picture taken by Daisy Hsieh from Ucreates Studio and Justin McMakin artistic and web mastery. 21 Connections brands was created. It has been great journey since then. Have used my logo for various events from Biz Network News Spring and Summer Bash, FP Reach and SOHO-SME event in Toronto. www.21connections.ca

                               






Second step was to create a website to promote my speaking business. www.jimpagiamtzis.ca. The site has been very well received.



                              
Third was create website to combine networking, speaking and social media. This will be launched very soon.

Have brand that you are able to share and your network and understand and share is the power of having your brand work for you.
