(True) Story: TTC Tales - Two interviews in one day!

          Thursday Sept 28th

I had two interview to attend.

1st   Airport Road (across the airport) at 10:00am
2nd   Arrow Road and Sheppard at 1:00pm

I started my journey at Christe Station at 8:30am and headed west to Kipling Station. I took an express bus to Jetliner road and Airport and arrived at 9:35am. Then I walked/ ran for 15 minutes north (there were sidewalks) to my interview. Had time to relax catch my breath and prepare.

The interview went very well (will find out Monday Oct 2).

It was 11:00am and headed back to catch the bus south back to Kipling station to got back to the subway. The plan was to back east across the bloor line to St.George then get off at St. George and go North to Sheppard West Station (formerly Downsview)

The first bus that came to the bus at Jetliner and Airport said Lawrence West station. So I got on for the long ride there. It was very busy with lots of pit stops of people getting on and off wth strollers, wheelcharis.

We finally reaching Lawrence Station and it was 5 minute wait for the short subway ride to Sheppard West Station.. I reached the station at 12:00pm. The normal bus that I have taken in the past was not in service until later in the day. So I took a bus to Jane and Sheppart (took a transfer) then the 99 Bus from Jane that went up to Arrow Road. I got the front steps of the building at 12:35Pm

Had time to prepare and get ready

The interview came just after 1:00pm. We were done in less the half an hour.

While I was waiting for the bus to go south back to Sheppard Ave. Two ladies mention that the bus doesn't come down until later. So I walked about 20 minutes south to Sheppard ave and took the bus across to Sheppard to Sheppard West station and subway across west to Christie

  I got back at 2:30pm

It was long day with a few logistics challenges but the TTC came through.  The better way as the best way today!  Thank you!

Tv Review: Marvels - Inhumans

                 Friday Sept 29th

                 Jim Pagiamtzis review:
" Great introduction of Marvel's Inhumans. Insights on the character was well done and the storyline plays out little slowly by the second hour the action begins and the Inhumans show who they are. Let the battle begin on earth!"

The Inhumans are led by their king, Black Bolt, and his Royal Family, consisting of Medusa, Karnak, Gorgon, Triton, Crystal, Maximus the Mad, and the canine Lockjaw. ... His role as king of the Inhumans has been tumultuous.

Special Sports Review: Invictus Games - Sledge Hockey

Friday Sept 29th at Mastercard Centre (200 Kipling Avenue)

It was amazing afternoon to watch sledge hockey at the Mastercard Centre in Etobicoke

Friendly game between Gold and black turned into a competitve game before it was done

Gold took an early 2-0 lead in the first period, then black stormed back in the third period to tie at 3-3.  There were lots of great passes, hit and spills throughout the game.

Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni Ricke Vaive and Tom Kurver served as coaches for the teams.

It was has been a successful week for the Invictus Games in Toronto.

Next years games take place in Sydney, Australia

Movie Review: Mad Max - Fury Road (2015)

              Jim Pagiamtzis review;
"Thrill ride of movie with the most amazing car chases I have every seen! Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy's performances take a while to appreciate, by the time movie end you wil be cheering for them!"

                Movie Plot:
Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows. Tom Hardy (“The Dark Knight Rises”) stars in the title role in “Mad Max: Fury Road”—the fourth in the franchise’s history. Oscar winner Charlize Theron (“Monster,” “Prometheus”) stars as the Imperator, Furiosa. The film also stars Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”) as Nux; Hugh Keays-Byrne (“Mad Max,” “Sleeping Beauty”) as Immortan Joe; and Nathan Jones (“Conan the Barbarian”) as Rictus Erectus. Collectively known as The Wives, Zoë Kravitz (“Divergent”) plays Toast, Riley Keough (“Magic Mike”) is Capable, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (“Transformers: Dark of the Moon”) is Splendid, and supermodel Abbey Lee is The Dag, and Courtney Eaton is Fragile. Also featured in the movie are Josh Helman as Slit, Jennifer Hagan as Miss Giddy, and singer/songwriter/performer iOTA as Coma-Doof Warrior.

TV Show Review: Star Trek Discovery (2017)

        Jim Pagiamtzis Review:

It has been excited to learn that Star Trek Discovery was being filmed at Pinewood Studios in Toronto. since last year.

The sad part was watching the 2 hour show and feeling extremely disappointed at the storyline, bad acting and premise of the film.

They rush right in the action with very little backstory and when they did explain it very poorly done. Nothing against having 2 female leads, in this situate it didn't work!  It was like watching a  stupid cat fight.  Even during the second hour it got worse trying to explain the villains reasons was still very sketchy.

        Gene Rodenberry wouldn't be happy.

Journey to Jays Game on Friday night

               Friday Sept 22,2013

It was great night to watch a baseball game. Huge thanks to Jon Guathier for the amazing ticket that was really close to the action!

It was Jose Bautista last homestand as Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre and everyone was excited to see a great game.

In the third inning Jose Baustista made a great leaping catch in right field and then through the ball back to the infield to Ryan Goins. What happened next was very weird (see video below)

Because we don't have play by play we found out later that Ryan Goins had done the hidden ball trick and tagged out the runner at second base!

Things got even more interesting later in the evening when I found out that I was caught on TV serenading Jose Bautista in the 3rd inning after he had made the catch.
