Business Awards Ceremony

Had the great honor and speaking at Monarch Park Collegiate on Wednesday May 26 at the Business Awards Ceremony. Earlier in the year had done a presentation on "Networking your way to Success" to class at through school via a connection I made at witha a teacher at Small Business Forum in Toronto late last year.

Being invited back to speak was a great honor, where I spoke on the importance on Having a Mentor and secondly being a Life Long Learner (reading, leading and associating)

Students planned and executed this event over the past few months. Their teamwork and imagination worked out very well. Lots of food and refreshments for everyone in attendace

Looking forward keeping connected with the great group of future achievers.

Networking at its best

At the gym today and had a great conversation with Yvonne who is currently working part time make sure the material are in their proper place (much appreciated!)

He was recently approached by member and was asked " Do you want to model?"

Yvonne agreed. Turns out they are Human Resources manager of a local clothing store at the Toronto's Eaton Centre. Yvonne goes and interview few days later and hired to work on-call basis

Lesson from this story is you just don't know who you are going to meet! So remember go out there and Get Connected-Make it Happen!

Make a "Healthier" you a reality

Making a “healthier” you a reality

As holiday season is upon us, it is important to include fitness in your daily routine to avoid the post-holiday blues. Some of you may already be going to the gym, while others may have home gym set-up. Here a few simple strategies that can help keep you healthy.

· Utilize your surroundings as you go through your day. Movement is important. Many of us sit in chair for most of the day, so standing up for at least a few minutes and taking a brief walk can help to energize you. Also, make it a goal to take the stairs at work instead of the elevator.

· Before you get to work you can do some stretches, sit-ups or running to start your day off in an energetic way. At home, find an area and do some arm stretches, head rolls or walking. This will increase your heart beat slightly and flex your muscles.

· Make physical activity a habit. As you begin to get in the groove of daily physical activity make sure to do it for at least 21 days (the time it takes to form a habit), and then it will be part of your day in an effortless way.
