In person interview with James Gray at TIFF Lightbox : Event Review

    
              Saturday January 6th

     In was amazing experience to listen, learn from James Gray on his experiences being a director of some very interesting film. Little Odessa (1994) The Yards (2000) We Own the Night (2007) Two Lovers (2008) The Immigrant (2013) and his upcoming film Ad Astra (2019) with Brad Pitt and Tommy Lee Jones

 Cameron Bailey asked him some very insightful and great questions about the movies his had made and the talent actors he has directed.

 He answered question on what impacted in his film making and how it  shown on screen. He spoke highly about Joaquin Phoenix and the numerous film that they done together.

 Throughout the night the talk James Gray was very funny and intriguing with his answers about the movie industry and journey that he has been on.

  He current film Ad Astra with Brad Pitt and Tommy Lee Jones is coming out in late 2019. Currently editing this ambitions and large film that he excited to share with the world

 At the end he answered my question at length nearly 8 minutes!

I asked him about the future of movies and how they have changed since he started filmaking

Synopsis of his answer.  It has change for the better and worse. He said Bird Box staring Sandra Bullock was released on netflix in late December and was viewed by 45 million people!  Would have been the same if had come out in the theater?  Lastly the types of films have change. So much CGI and effects and no more method acting.  Y
