Dion (Jai'Siah Young) has superpower that he is learning to use and his mother Nicole (Alisha Wainwright) is trying to help him and at the same time trying to live hers
Her husband Mark (Michael B Jordan) dies in Iceland under weird circumstance and they are both missing him dearly.
Pat Rollins (Jason Ritter) worked with Mark and is helping Nicole when he can. Mark works Bionics who are doing some weird experiments and Mark stumbles on to them and begin to investigate
The climax leads to Dion, Nicole dealing with a supernatural being the Crooked Man who has been after super heroes for a reason.
All is revealed in the climatic end with a battle that will have ramifications for everyone
