Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 (2023): Movie Review

Jim's Review

In the first Guardian of the Galazy (2014) Director James Gunn brought together this group of misguided guardians in a powerful story in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which would have an integral arc and impact in future films

Star Lord/ Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) was a child that was kidnapped and raised by the ravengers and started of journey of being a thief and leader of the group.

Gamora (Zoe Saldana) Rocket (voice by Bradly Cooper) Groot (Voiced by Vin Diesel) Drax (Dave Bautista) Nebula ( Karen Gillian) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff) all had some interesting roles and backstories which were explained as the storyline grew and expanded

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 (2017) the journey continued for the guardians this time going into Peter Quills dad and his unique power in the first film, it brought a low point for the series but was made more important in the Avengers Infinity War (2018)  and Avenger Endgame (2019)

This leads us to the 3rd installment that goes into the backstory of Rocket and how he was created by the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji) and his grand view to create a perfect world.

Director James Gunn wrote this script with Rocket first and Marvel second and it worked masterfully as it brought the closure we needed about Rockets intriguing backstory and how he became and beloved and misunderstood guardian.

In this installment suffers altering injury from Adam Warlock ( Will Poulter) who a created in the Guardian of the Galaxy (in the end credits) but doesn't make his appearance until Volume 3. His character is important in this film yet for some reason is treat more of after effect and side joke in most of the commentary but make up for it in the climatic end!

The guardians go on journey to save Rocket and get the necessary information in true guardians fashion.   Stakar Ogord (Sylvester Stallone) make an appearance and in true fashion bring his sensational a-game.

I would like to bring a special insight to Master Karja (Nathan Fillion) who brings some amazing comedy to the film mid-way the film and true fashion adds the dose of totally hilarious antics to entire new level. (must watch in my opinion)

The climatic end will be a truly emotional and satisfying as bow is put on this film that truly makes it a masterful and marvelous end to the Guardians of the Galaxy arc.

The post credit scenes are really cool and cryptic leading to the interesting future of the Guardians of the Galaxy for future MCU films

This was the last film written and directed by James Gunn and he has gone over to DC to co run it with Peter Safran.

                                                                                     8.5 stars out of 10

About film
Still reeling from the loss of Gamora, Peter Quill must rally his team to defend the universe and protect one of their own. If the mission is not completely successful, it could possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.
