Crawl (2019): Movie Review

       Jim Pagiamtzis Review:

A young Haley (Kaya Scodelario) is urged to be her best by her dad Dave (Barry Pepper). Years later she has drifted away from her dad and now she is on her own. She get a call from her sister Beth (Morfydd Clark) concerning her dad. An impending hurricane is about to hit Florida and she can’t find him.
Reluctantly Haley goes on trip to find her dad first at the condo and then to deep into Florida where the winds and water are rising to their childhood home where he may be at.

What follows is a game a cat and mouse with lots of alligators in the confines of a house. The alligators are on the hunt and Haley and her Dave are trying to stay alive.

Beth bring out her “Apex Predator” instincts and outwits and outsmart the gators, and when do have her she hangs out and fights her way out of it

Director Alexandre Aja does a spectacular job to bring the script to life by Shawn and Michael Rasmussen.

            8 out of 10 stars!

Good: Lots of unexpected scare moments
Bad: First act of movie did a lot of obvious set ups
Ugly: The characters talk about scientific theories and they don't follow it

          Movie Plot:
When a massive hurricane hits her Florida town, young Haley ignores the evacuation orders to search for her missing father, Dave. After finding him gravely injured in their family home, the two of them become trapped by the rapidly encroaching floodwaters. With the storm strengthening, Haley and Dave discover an even greater threat than the rising water level -- a relentless attack from a pack of gigantic alligators.
