CyTip 28:
Social Media platforms should NOT be a safe haven for terrorist plans and national (or international) security threats. After what happened in Pittsburgh shooting and the report/apology from “gab.com” we should all be aware. If you happen to notice a post or a person that incites or plans an attack of any kind do not hesitate to take action. Simple steps you can do:
1-
Report the post / person to the social media platform that you notice
them on. Every social media platform has a menu on every post or person
with a “report” option for that purpose.
2- If the threat you’re reporting is immediate call 911 (in Canada) or your local police department.
3- If you feel the threat is serious to your national security but not immediate, report it to CSIS (in Canada) or the intelligent service in your own country. BE CAREFUL not to report just any incident for that might get you in serious trouble. Guidelines and instructions on reporting national security threats to CSIS are on this link:

Have a happy and safe surfing.
