Special Guest post: Cyber Tip #24- Hisham Qaddoumi

We now know for sure that #cyberbullying and cyber incitement could result into real violence. Result might vary from a physical or verbal #violence to a serious domestic or international terror attack and become a serious threat to national security.

Words can kill and it’s not acceptable nor it’s legal to incite online violence. So, if you are (or witnessed) a victim of online violence like cyber bullying or life threats here’s what to do:

1- Do NOT engage in any further conversation with the bully, it might fuse more violence and make things worse or be used against you in a court of law.

2- Call the cyber crime unit in your area’s police, if you’re in Canada you can get more information and help using this web site:

3- If you noticed any suspicious behavior of strangers in your neighborhood or proximity and felt fear for your safety also report it immediately. Do NOT act on your own risk.

4- Stay agile but don’t panic or get paranoid, calmness is very important to handle danger.

Hope no one will ever face these threats.
Have a happy and safe surfing.
