Unlike the common belief it is less secured, actually, cloud is more secured than most on premises solutions because cloud providers take much great measures for security because their own reputation is on the edge. If you decide to move your business to the cloud just make sure you keep these simple points in your mind:
1- Make sure you’re using good reputation cloud providers like
Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud (or other providers with good
reputation).
2- From your end make sure that the devices that will connect to sensitive data on your cloud are safe, verified and have a sort of well-known antivirus solution.
3- Make sure that your cloud provider is committed to an acceptable degree of responsibility in case of data breach, data loss… etc. You MUST read the terms of services very carefully and it’s highly recommended to engage a lawyer to review this agreement.
4- Make sure that the cloud provider hosts your data on a data center in your country. Providers like Microsoft and Google give you the options to host your data in Canada.
