New Beginning: Camaraderie Co-working as Host and Community Manager

Newsletters are important!

It was mid January and I had received a newsletter from Camaraderie Coworking and I was just to about to unsubscribe when I decided to read through the newsletter. Had come across there name a few times a couple of networking events I had been to in late 2012 and early 2012.

They were in the process of moving to new location and they were looking for Host and Community Managers. Part of the bartering process they were offering.

I filled out the online application and few days later I got a phone call!

On Tuesday February 26th had a meeting with Rachel Young founder of Camaraderie Coworking at Starbucks on Bloor and Dundas St. W. We had great conversation and it turns out we had few mutual friends in common from Robert Campbell from Smojoe.com , Leo Coholic for Longbranch Coworking

By the end of the interview I was hired and was looking forward to participating in this new concept. Opportunity to meet new professionals and entrepreneurs.

We are located at 2241 Dundas St W, 3rd floor
Business hours are Mon – Fri 10:00am to 6:00pm. Drop-ins and tours must be scheduled via e-mail.

Bateman's Bicycle Company Story

Social Media is alive and well!
It was a cold and breezy day in Toronto.  I was glad I noticed on my Facebook feed that Bateman's Bicycle  Company was having a glove sale today. 50% of gloves. It was great timing because I need some new gloves!
I had written an article on Bateman's Bicycle Company in  May 2012 regarding great experience I had in getting my bike tuned up.
Had great opportunity to talk to Rob Bateman and share him with him the details of the article and that it had been viewed 2700 times!

Also learned that he used Constant Contact to send out newsletter on a quarterly basis. It also turns out that I am a Authorized Local expert and Solution provider since October 2011. I  always enjoy sharing success stories using the Constant Contact platform.
Got myself nice pair of gloves to keep my hands warm for the winter weather and great to used for non-bike activities also.
Below is picture of the Facebook ad.
Happy cycling!

500 Blogs

It has been an amazing journey since 2008 since I started blogging. From my first blog which got post on 2 others sites and lead to a referral in less than 48hrs, to leveraging articles into paid speaking opportunities and multiple books.

Since then I have written multiple blogs on various websites from Toronto Public Library, Klemmer  & Associates. Staples, Metroactive.org and many more.

Sharing topics from Networking, Mentorship, Leadership, weekly newsletters from Get Connected 21st Century.

Using the blog as a platform to promote other articles from Marc Gordon, Jack Canfield, Cory Olynick  to promoting weekly events happening in Toronto.

Creating the Spotlight feature in January 2012 has been an amazing journey in "ask 2 dynamics questions and you supply the answers!"  Have written about 40+  amazing  entrepreneurs and professionals in my network. In July 2012 started the Power talk series where I brought out these amazing people and ask them to speak for 10 minutes on a topics to inspire, empower and encourage.

It was a huge success and I got great feedback from attendees. I had two more event in September and December and which went well.

We had a special event in October in  association with Justin McMakin founder of  Full Media Centre where Justin McMakin shared his Marketing Funnel system and I shared presentation on Social Media Made Simple and How to become a Networking Success. Many great connections were made that evening.

I have been a avid book reader from many years so I tool the opportunity to write book reviews and share them on my blog. It has been great experience to share what I have learned but to also encourage and empower my connections to do the same.

Lastly would like to thank all the readers for reading and sharing my blogs with your network.

Look forward to sharing more amazing spotlight features, book reviews and articles.

I will be accepting articles submission for my blog in 2013! Articles must be 500 words or less and edited.
