        About book:
You have the power to accomplish goals, create an impact, and live the life you want.
The key to achieving what you set out for--in business and in life--doesn’t lie in perfectly executed strategy. The greatest tool you have is your own mindset—it determines your ability to adapt and persevere. And, like any other tool, you can employ it to your advantage.
While most aspiring entrepreneurs think the next business strategy will manifest the life they desire, successful entrepreneurs know it’s the emotional and mental “shifts” that will bring you closer to your goals.
No one is better equipped to explore these shifts than Ajit Nawalkha, cofounder of Mindvalley and one of the world’s leading entrepreneurs and business coaches. In Live Big: A Guide to Passion, Practicality, and Purpose, Nawalkha shares 25 shifts—changes in your mental, physical, emotional, or even spiritual state—that will propel you on your road to success.
Through Nawalkha’s expertise, discover how this book will:
  • Bring you out of any funk or stagnant revenue cycle
  • Give you the emotional, spiritual, and mental power to fight the ups and downs of business
  • Show you ways to deal with everyday challenges, find comfort in them, and get past them in 20 minutes or less
  • Help you cope with ‘entrepreneurial anxiety’ and find purpose, passion, and bliss in your business
Live Big is the go-to guide for business owners and entrepreneurs who want to be in a state of flow and creativity, to ensure your passion is backed by purpose and practicality. With principles and foundational thinking habits that allow you to move from a place of defeat and anxiety to one of joy and contribution to humanity, this book will serve as a compass that you can pick up and find direction to keep moving forward in today’s world of entrepreneurship. learn more

Special event review: Acces Employment Speed Mentory event

                     Wednesday May 17,2017

It was evening that I will never forget.

I have been attending the Acces Employment event as a mentor for the past 5 years. It has been amazing experience to listen and learn from professional and entrepreneur who have aspirations to start their own buisiness in the near future

On this night I was ready to listen and offer my advice to participants sitting across from me  As the night went on I heard ideas, potential business products and even some potential business partnerships!

Nothing really impressive that would make my night. It was until the last mentee sat infront of me.

When I look at him at first he looked like a biker that had just got out of prison!

Was I way wrong, His name was Niche who had arrived from Greece earlier in the year. I started to really excited ( I am of Greek descent)

He present me with a business plan, logo and monetary funds he had secured from government agencies and friends. Close to 90K

This was the WOW moment of the night!  I got up and hugged him. Everyone in the room look astonished and confused.

I said "This is what Greek do when they meet!"

                   The entire room laughed

It was great way to end the evening to see that he done his homework and was ready to execute his plan.

                      Fast forward to January 2018.

He has secured a place in the Queen and Dufferin area and is scheduled to open in mid February 2018.

                     Stay tuned...

The Secrets of a Successful Social Media Photo Contest

Telling the institution/companies/ organization’s story is of the utmost importance – however, collecting and showcasing these stories in a compelling way can present some interesting challenges. At our on-campus launch of Impact: The Campaign for York University, York used a social media photo contest that allowed us to seamlessly create a bank of succinct, shareable stories by directly engaging with students (millennials and Gen Z), staff, faculty and alumni and inviting them to participate in the campaign conversation. The success of this initiative established a new, more effective strategy for telling York’s story of impact moving forward.

Spotlight: David Gargaro

As a Consulting Editor, I provide writing, editing, consulting and project management services. My goal is to ensure the accuracy, clarity and integrity of your message.

1st  How did you get started and why?

When I first graduated from the University of Toronto in 1992, my goal was to become an actuary. However, I was finding it difficult to get my foot in the door, as the job market was rather tight and opportunities for new graduates without experience were scarce. So, I started looking for other ways to earn income, and that led me to a freelance proofreading position with a publisher of law resources.
This experience gave me the experience to get other freelance editing assignments, which included editing math textbooks for an educational publisher. I found that I had a skill for copy editing, and I truly enjoyed working on different materials every day. After working as a freelance editor for several years, I had the opportunity to take on full-time employment with a major publisher. However, I discovered that I preferred the freedom and variety offered by working as a freelance editor, so I returned to freelance editing and have not looked back.

Over the course of nearly 20 years, I have had the opportunity to write and edit a wide variety of materials for many different companies in various industries. I cannot imagine doing anything else except what I am doing today.

2nd  What tips would you give to business professionals on editing their own writing?

First, revise the content and organization. Rearrange the order of your information such that it would make the most sense to your reader. Add new main ideas or develop existing ideas more thoroughly to make sure that your message is clear, interesting and complete. Remove any unnecessary or duplicate information to make your writing more focused and applicable to the reader. Make sure that all information is accurate and current. Look at the introduction and the conclusion to make sure that they are fulfilling their roles. The introduction should capture your reader’s attention and clearly indicate the point of the document. The conclusion should summarize your main points and effectively conclude your argument. Consider the tone of your message; it should be consistent throughout your document and appeal to your audience.

Second, revise paragraphs and individual sentences. Each paragraph should contain an identifiable topic sentence, and all sentences within that paragraph should support the topic. Your opening paragraph should contain a well-defined thesis statement. Of course, all paragraphs and sentences should be grammatically correct, contain the proper language and tone, and be consistent in tone and tense. Each sentence should contain a single thought that supports the content of the paragraph.

Finally, perform an effective edit of the entire document. Editing involves correcting errors in word choice, spelling and punctuation. Remove unnecessary words, jargon and clichés to make sure that all words are effectively used. Check all spelling to make sure that it is consistent throughout, and verify the proper use of punctuation. Have someone else read your document to get a fresh perspective and help with catching overlooked errors.
