Performance principles for strong corporate culture




To perform in any environment it’s important to realize that  culture is dependent on one area or  achieving one or two tasks. The team you work with is part of the inter-connected dynamics that affect the results of  getting things done. There are factors from behaviours, work ethic and individual initiative that contribute to getting tasks completed.

In many fast paced environment from hospitals and transportation companies task are cleary defined and task needed to get completed from deliveries done correctly to patient needs tak care of.
Here are  5 key strategies in creating executing high performance culture that would apply to many organizations

Cleary define goals

Every department is part of the chain that affects other in the corporate cycle. When they achieve their goals the corporate engine is well oiled and working well.
Corporate culture clearly defined

Many workplaces have diverse cultures and it’s important to be respectful and understanding of everyone workspace. Work guidelines must enforced and be reminded often, from coming to work on time, having positive work engagement amongst employees, and when problems to arise that they are discussed and dealt with. Allowing situations to grow and not be dealt with can cause long term damage to company and corporate culture.

Set  flexible and achievable goals

There are specific steps that need to get completed on a daily basis which is corporate standard. There may be opportunities to streamline and improve areas within the daily systems from paper flow, computer programs to communication within  departments, the importance of allowing flexibility of employees to feel comfortable to offer suggestions and let them be heard  or simple allow them to make adjustment as long as goals are completed.

Connect to corporate goals

Employees want to be part of the corporate future and want to succeed with their organization. They must know what the goals looks like (ex. Bonus, raises) for them to engage and be motivated to succeed with their team.  Internal communication is important for the employees to know, if they don’t it may create disengagement or passive interest in company initiatives.

Performance = Transparency 

Sharing monthly statistics from revenue, sales goals give  the employee the ability of having a sense of ownership of the company. Keeping information simple  terms because many employees many not understand the terms in some cases. Having engaged employees is the most important factor that any organization wants. Though company events, internal productivity challenges from games to pot lucks are important to keep the social factor and chemistry in check

Being aware of who the leaders are within the various department will be an important tool to motivating and inspiring everyone to succeed.  Allowing the leaders to be the example and share their stories will create power enforcement of individuals success is part of the group dynamics of the organization succeeding.

When goals are achieved its important to celebrate with the team of the great accomplishment. Managers must acknowledge employees hard work, boost confidence and keeps positive momentum moving forward.  A tree grows because you feed it what it needs. Employees need to grow and learn and strive to become better. Corporate responsibility is for them to have the tools to achieve for everyone to win.

High-performance organizations do not take their culture for granted. They plan it, monitor it and manage it so that it remains aligned with they want to achieve. Do remember the famous words of Peter Drucker:
