Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker (2019): Movie Review

   Jim Pagiamtzis Review

The saga comes to end in this 9th installment of the Star Wars films. Daisy Ridley as Rey and Adam Driver as Kylo Ren/Ben continue their emotional and physical battle with a plot twist you won't see coming that will explain the happenings in the the previous two films The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

There are two new characters that will bring some hilarious drama to film which I feel is needed to change the pace during the middle frame

After that moment it becomes very apparent how the film will end and there will be some other surprises that you will enjoy that will put a bow on the series finale

The supporting roles Poe, Finn also bring the storyline to epic close with a battle of the ages that will revered for years to come.

It was amazing journey to watch this amazing Star War Saga unfold for so many years!

May the force be with you!

9 out of 10 stars

Good: Lots of action & battles to make it feel like the movies from the original trilogy.

Bad: Without spoiling anything; there were alot of unnecessary scenes and moments.

Ugly: Again; without spoiling anything; the movie ended very weak.

Movie Review: Star Wars The Last Jedi (2017)

               Jim Pagaimtzis Review:

"Spectacular Movie Wizardry is the best to explain this amazing movie. The journey continues for Rey in meeting Luke Skywaler and Fin goes on his new adventure to save the galaxy.

The Force Awakens (2015) was the warm up movie this was the main course. The story deepen and we learn more about the character personal journey.

The first movie I watched was Empire Strikes Back and the fond memories of the chase scenes and humour were very evident throughout the film. In this film there is throw back dialogue to the earlier films to bring some history to the film.

The J.J Abrams (executive producer) is very evident in the film from the massive fights scenes the long lense cinemic pictures of the surrounding film.

Only two characters I didn't like Laura Dern (Vice Admiral Amildyn Holdo  seemed out of place and Bencio Del Torro (DJ) both performances were very poor.

I wanted  to see Prince Harry and Prince William served as storm troopers in the film. There were som many I didn't know which ones they were

Despite the long running time of the film it delivers what we all want an escapte into the world of Star Wars Galaxy. Look forward to the conclusion in December 2019.

I give the film 9 of 10 stars

Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi (SPOILER HEAVY!)
GOOD:
1     The strategic use of THE FORCE throughout the movie to show a connection between Rey & Kylo Ren were good to show us that there is going to be more between them in Episode 9.
2      The fight scenes in space were good BUT the Millinium Falcoln could have been used more!

BAD:
1      Directing: Luke tossing the light saber & wiping the dust off his shoulder were things he would not do! Luke should have been in the movie more and had more light sabre fights to show his improved skills. He should not have died.
2     Directing: Luke and Laia should have more time and scenes together, especially since they both did not have a chance to be reunited with Han Solo in The Force Awakens.
3      Directing: Maz Kanata should have been used a lot better than she was!
4      Directing: No definitive answer for Snokes’ history and his death was stupid and too soon!
5      Directing: Rey’s heritage was never explored or explained as we were led to believe it would be in Episode 7.
UGLY:
1      Given Carrie Fisher’s death in the real world, They had a few opportunities to actually kill off Laia but they didn’t (1) Blown into space scene (2) Taking the ship away from the fleet so they can escape to the planet
2      KantoByte Scene: it didn’t feel like Star Wars at all!
3    The use of modern day gestures and verbiage made it feel like it was taking place here on earth and not “A Long Time Ago, In A Galaxy, Far, Far Away!”
4     Laura Dern & Benetico DelToro were a waste of space in the movie

           Story plot:
Luke Skywalker's peaceful and solitary existence gets upended when he encounters Rey, a young woman who shows strong signs of the Force. Her desire to learn the ways of the Jedi forces Luke to make a decision that changes their lives forever. Meanwhile, Kylo Ren and General Hux lead the First Order in an all-out assault against Leia and the Resistance for supremacy of the galaxy.
