Special Movie Post: 90th Oscars awards on Sunday March 4th

  It's going to be a special Oscar night.

   I was in two movies last year  Downsizing (directed by Alex Payne) had a smal speaking role and Shape of Water (directed by Guillermo Del Torro) spent two days on set as 1960's Ad man.

  Excited to see if Shape of Water takes home al 3 awards! stay tuned...

    I saw I, Tonya ( amazing film! Allison Janney must win for Best Supporting Actress) and 3 Billboards outside of Ebbing, Missouri (it won People's choice Award(  at TIFF17

Journey to meeting Director/ Author Guillermo Del Toro

              
              Wednesday Sept 27th

              It was going to be great moment to meet Guillermo Del Toro again!

            Quick back story.

            In October 2016 I had the great experience to be on set of Shape of Water in Hamilton and Scarborough playing at 1960's Ad man. It was great to see iconic director in action for two days!


           Fast forward to Sept 2017

          Shape of Water premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in Sept 7-17 and will be released in theatres in December 2017


             The Art Gallery of Ontario had a book signing for Guillermo Del Toro new book at home with Monster and new exhibit.

              I lined up at 3:30pm and patiently waited to meet him. I didnt get in until 8:00pm!

            Huge thanks to John who I met in line for the great conversation and get me some water :)

            John was retired and did work in the music industry. He had worked for the Obama administarion for 7 years in Washington,DC in the education sector.

                   I finally  go the moment to meet Guillermo Del Toro and hi brought few pictures of  dressed in 1960's man

              He said "oh yeah that was in Hamilton!"

            I said" yes it was and it was great experience to see you in action for two days on set!. Would you sign them please?"

              He said "of course!"

          With that the cricle was complete. Being in the movie and getting a picture with him!

Movie for 2017: Guillermo det Toro - The Shape of Water

Another secretive project from a top director, The Shape of Water will be Guillermo del Toro’s tenth feature film. Billed as a fantasy adventure– like nearly all his works– Water will tell the story of Elisa (Sally Hawkins), a mute janitor who works at a laboratory during the Cold War. Elisa encounters an “amphibious man” who has been captured and kept for study, whom she then falls in love with and conspires with her neighbor (Richard Jenkins) to set free. The plot is not dissimilar to a dramatic version of Splash (1984), but it’s safe to assume that del Toro’s skill as a storyteller will push the film into more emotional territory.

The Shape of Water will also follow in the grand tradition of del Toro films that mesh fantasy with real world concerns. In this case, being America circa 1963, issues of gender, equality, and communism will undoubtedly come into question as Elisa follows her heart. A release date has yet to be set, but the film’s cast of Michael Shannon, Octavia Spencer, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Doug Jones definitely looks compelling.
