Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022): Movie Review

           Marvelous, Mystic and Menacingly Horrific

                                                                        Jim's Review (spoiler review)

Doctor Strange had his first film in 2016 and fast forward to 2022 lots have happened in the MCU universe!

In order for this movie to make sense to you, highly recommend watching Spiderman No Way Home, WandaVision and What if Seasons 1 & 2.

Sam Raimi is back as director of this film and not his first rodeo working with Marvel, He did Spiderman, Spiderman 2 and Spiderman 3. The most import film you should watch is Darkman (1990) it is 30 years ago yet Sam takes everything he did in that film and applies it in this film!

As you begin the film you thrust into the action as Doctor Strange ( Benedict Cumberbatch) is battling a monster with the help of new character America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez)

Wanda is on mission and she needs America Chavez for her evil plan as Doctor Strange gets involved to save her and things go haywire from this part all the way to the end.

Most of the film you are following Doctor Strange and America Chavez trying to get the book of Vishanti, while Wanda is evolving and soon becomes the dangerous and powerful Scarlett Witch.

There is cool and horrific scene where Mordo introduces Doctor Strange to the Illuminati who tell Doctor Strange wheat he did with Thanos in Avenger Endgame was very bad causing damage to the multiverse or as they call it "inversion"

Scarlet Witch finds Illuminati as America Chavez is held captive and Christine (Rachel Macdams) is trying to save her.

Then it gets really nasty as Scarlet Witch battles the Illuminati members and ferocity, vigor and lots of anger!

The climatic end will definitely be a battle to save the multiverse yet doing so will ripple effects that will be felt by many for years to come.

There are two post credit scenes worth watching with new star to Marvel and hotdog stand vendor (Bruce Campbell) making a statement.

Rate 7 out of 10 stars

Spiderman No Way home rating 9 out of 10 stars

48 Law of Power: Book Review

Jim's Review

An insightful book full of strategies, tips and life lessons.

9 out of 10 stars

About book
The New York Times Bestseller

Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive,
The 48 Laws of Power is the definitive manual for anyone interested in gaining, observing, or defending against ultimate control.

In the book that
People magazine proclaimed “beguiling” and “fascinating,” Robert Greene and Joost Elffers have distilled three thousand years of the history of power into 48 essential laws by drawing from the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, and Carl Von Clausewitz and also from the lives of figures ranging from Henry Kissinger to P.T. Barnum.

Some laws teach the need for prudence (“Law 1: Never Outshine the Master”), others teach the value of confidence (“Law 28: Enter Action with Boldness”), and many recommend absolute self-preservation (“Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally”). Every law, though, has one thing in common: an interest in total domination. In a bold and arresting two-color package,
The 48 Laws of Power is ideal whether your aim is conquest, self-defense, or simply to understand the rules of the game. learn more and buy book

The Staircase (2022): Movie Review

What follows insight on the lawyers, evidence and the twist and turns the case took that affected so many people along the way.

9 out of 10 stars

In 2001 novelist Michael Peterson's wife died, and he claimed she perished after falling down stairs at their home.

Top Gun - Maverick (2022): Movie Review

Jim's Review

Pete Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is back to train some new recruits for a dangerous mission.

He has to pick 6 new recruit to go a mission that require skill, patience and no fear.  Bradly Bradshaw (Miles Teller), Hangman (Glen Powell) and Phoenix (Monica Barbaro) are ready to face the intense pressure.

Lt Tom "Iceman" Kazanzky (Val Kilmer) make an impactful appearance to keep Maverick on the straight and arrow and fight any regrets he may have.

Now for the film. It has some spectacular flying shots outside in the air and in the plance.

The is a mission that will take place that requires "two miracles to happen" and that is a much I will say.

The drama and relationships are fully developed including a cool beach scene where they are playing volleyball and Adm. Beau 'Cyclone' Simpson (Jon Hamm) show up to learn about team building.

The final act is full of fast paced action and decisions on trust and friendship come in to play.

The need for speed was in full display for your enjoyment!

She/Hulk trailer (2022): Feature article

Jim's Review

Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) is attorney at all in the first trailer of She/Hulk in the MCU. Lots to decipher from the trailer (check out video below with Eric Voss of New Rock Stars)

In short Jennifer Walters gets a blood transfusion from Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and is transformed into she-hulk with lots of comedy and drama that ensues.

In the trailer there are two villains show one in courtroom Titania the other Leap From.  The Abomination (Emil Blonskyfrom 2008 The Incredible Hulk. He last appeared in Shang Shi and the Legend of the ten Rings) appears in window jail.

There was lots of excited for this trailer of months of mini teasers.

There has been criticism on the poor CGI in the trailer by many insiders. I think it unwarranted and still early to do so. Series comes out in August 2022 so there is lots of time.

Marvel Studios is always pushing the CGI in all the films and it takes time to get it rights and with so many project on the go little patience is needed by the fans.

I give it 7 out of 10 stars
