Black Widow (2021): Movie Review

Jim's Review

In this solo film  Natasha Ramanoff aka Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson) goes on adventure to reunite her family and take on an old enemy.

With her friend Yelena Pugh Belova (Florence Pugh) she gets Red Gaurdian (David Harbour)  out of jail and the seek out another family member Melina Vostokoff (Rachel Weisz) along the way they face some foes with some spectacular actions sequences with planes, bikes and lots of cars involved

The storyline seems little disjointed at time with some historic references to with Avengers but not much more than that. Her ongoing relationship with Clinton Barton (Jeremy Renner) is explored a little. (watch post credit scene).

Natasha Ramanoff has been involved in Marvel cinematic universe since Iron Man 2 (2010) and climatic end in Avenger Engame (2019)

In this film they had a huge opportunity to go more into her past, even though it has been explained in the first Avengers (2012). New characters and very thin storyline was not enough.

6 out of 10 stars
