A few weeks ago I got together with Marc Gordon and Jim Pagiamtzis to talk about networking when we came up with the idea of creating a series of podcasts on best practices.
Each of us used Social Media to get input in to a networking question that either:

• You have always wanted to ask but never have or
• You feel you have never received a satisfactory answer to

Each of us then chose one question that all three of us answered during the podcast.
The 2^nd half of the idea was to then give the person who asked our chosen questions 20 minutes on the phone with all three of us to have any networking / sales / marketing /social media / sales 2.0 questions answered.
I chose the question from Chris Hamilton of Sales Tip A Day “What one thing must anyone do who is networking in the online world & the offline world?”
Our call with Chris along with the originators of Marc’s and Jim’s chosen question will be recorded and released as future podcasts.

Spotight: Jean-Guy Francoeur

 In the last few months have been inspired and driven by Jean-Guy through his book and associated with Goal Achievers Canada.

Recently read the book called Messy Manager and its was enjoyable read that Jean-Guy took a complex problem of business management and created a easy to follow application to run a successful enterprise in any field.

1^st       What was the inspiration to writing this current book?

The book is based on my decade+ of being an entrepreneur. I’ve never had a ‘job’ so I had to figure out the business world and I’ve had some phenomenal mentors along the way thus wanted to give back. Wanted to write a book that could become a tool belt for entrepreneurs whether young or old to have a track to run on instead of  jumping all over the place.

2^nd     What  would you advise an entrepreneur or professional looking at writing a book?

Attend the Publish Your Way to Profits Weekend Workshop. It’s a $2000 investment that will save you $20.000+ time, money and mistakes. It’s not just that I teach the workshop but it’s the fact that you’re learning from a professional who has published over 250 books and generated over  $100 million using the very same principles  you’re trying to learn (ie: Gerry Robert). Don’t reinvent the wheel, just borrow a page from the playbook of professional who have demonstrated by their results that they can help you!

Also, follow the philosophies: 1. Get in down then get it right. 2. Getting the book is the easy part-getting RID of the book (i.e: marketing) is the CHALLENGE!

Social Networking Unlocked event..featuring some great suprises

 May 20.2011 was a sunny and amazing day in Toronto. Having had 6 days for rain the sun was a welcomed delight.  Constant Contact had put together an event in downtown Toronto (Park Hyatt) dealing with Social Networking and how to leverage it.

It was a packed house by the time I got there mid-morning which was great to see. Was excited to hear Marc Gordon speak  in the early afternoon session and there were many other great speakers sharing the stage from Lori Raundnask author of Persistence Pays,

It was April 28-31  had the opportunity to attend Publishing your way to Profit 3 day event.Big thanks to Jean-Guy Francoeur  for this great gift! His association with the Goal Achievers Speaker Development group/mastermind has been amazing. Everyone of the team member attend this event which we learned how to write book and also market and sell it!

The next week had the awesome time at Profits  are better than Wages in association with Goal Achievers International  shared  the stage with Gerry Robert who has spoken to 3 million people  and had written multiple books. This was put together in four weeks (story for another blog).

The following speakers shared  the insight on Business,Life and Success also Courtney Carroll, Patrick Bizindayvi, Justin McMakin, James Burgess, Jean Reeves, Barry Spilchuk.  Jean Guy Francoeur and Amanda Bailey were our mc's  for the day. Big thanks to all our volunteers who came early and left very late.

On May 19,2011 was invited again by Jean-Guy Francoeur  to Rapid Results Marketing Workshop that Gerry Robert puts together throughout  the year. There was great information shared in the half day workshop on how to be more effective in marketing your business or products. (link below)

In an article I wrote for Centennial College few years ago talked about seeking out great speakers. Becoming a great speaker involves patience, practice and execution. Learning for other dynamic speakers gives your that added edge learning about their story and how they overcame there pitfalls. Listening to Gerry Robert  and getting to know him has added the fuel and  the inspiration to succeeding as professional paid speaker.

Profits are Better than Wages May 7th Event was an amazing success

  The Profit Leaders a Goal Achievers Success team held their first event on Saturday May7th in Toronto. It was a excited journey for this event to occur, it was only 4 weeks ago that this event was created and implementation happen in three weeks. From designing of website, finding a venue, printing tickets and attracting two sponsors it was an exciting experience.

Just McMakin from Full Media Center designed the interactive website with videos, bio and registration page.
Jean Guy Francouer provided the template on what need to be done and by whom. Patrick Bizinvdayvi  was instrumental in find the location two weeks prior to the event!. Courtney Carrol and Jim Pagiamtzis participated in  promoting and marketing the event.  Paul Renie assisted in various areas.

Thank you to Author and Speaker Gerry Robert for being our key note speaker for the day and sharing his amazing story.

Barry Spilchuck Author of  Your my Hero book series for sharing his insight and experience on the journey his has gone through and how he chooses to succeed in the success of others

Jean Guy Francouer and Amanda Baily were our Master of Ceremonies who kept the crowd inspired and motivated throughout the day.


Christopher Van Derr Hoff  did not assist at this event due a previous commitment, his supported and encouragement was deeply appreciated.

Phil Taylor the visionionary who started this didn't speak at the event was the catalyst for this event has relocated in Alabama to build the Goal Achievers International

Had a great time appearing on That Channel.com on Friday May 6th, 2011 sharing the microphone  with Patrick Bizindayvi. We had a great conversation with Hugh Reilly and his co-host Erin regarding our journey being authors and speakers.

Patrick Bizindayvi President of Best Life Motivation and author up upcoming book Journeyman Stories shared his insights on his journey has evolved. From his brother living in U.K. and through some twist and turns ends up in Toronto. Patrick has had successfull  15 years career in basketball and currently work a french language radio station. His sights are getting in to professional speaking June 2011 and heading up Goal Achievers Canada with his business partner Paul Renie.

Publishing your way to Profits Weekend

Had the great opporutnity to participate in 3 day workshop with Author, book publisher Gerry Robert sharing his Publishing your way to Profits on how to write a book and how to sell it.

There were  25 enterpreneurs from various industries learning the strategies pieces involved writing and selling book in a systematic way that has yielded results.

Friday started by explaing how to Plan it and write it. Utilizing an amazing template process that make it simple to plan out your chapter and how they should flow.

Saturday was about how to promote and market the book, understanding how to position the book as a buisness and how to leverage multiple sources fo income

Sunday we learned how to get sponsorship and fund the book and amazing marketing ideas that have worked.

Throughout the weekend we had multiple breakout sessions where we networking and learned about each other. We filmed testimonials with each other which enhanced our relationships.
